On Jaimz Asmundson’s return from a road trip to the USA with his Cinematheque colleague and friend David Knipe during the beginning of the COVID lockdowns, the pair found themselves in need of riding out the return quarantine. They did so quite literally, turning their quarantine into the final episode of Asmundson’s Dash Jam web series, where Asmundson used his car as the stage to interview local musicians about their beginnings and their influences. In this quarantine edition, Knipe is instead the one to interview Asmundson, the musician, about his beginnings and influences. The result is a journey that enables you to be present with Asmundson again as he was when you last remember him, full of life once more – chatting about music, film and other passions, while on a journey to thrift VHS tapes in Transcona. / Cecilia Araneda
