Dear Film and Acting Community in Winnipeg,
It has come to my attention that reports of my passing have been greatly exaggerated.
A film that poured through me during a creative surge in my early 20s called, “Singh” was screened at the WNDX Film Festival’s 20-year retrospective. I had no idea it had been selected, and because I’ve since moved away, I also had no idea that somewhere along the way, I’d apparently… died?
To everyone back home and those who love and support WNDX Festival of Moving Image and who have supported me, loved my work, or simply wondered where I’ve been, I’m alive, I’m well, and I have plans to create after a long hiatus from my creative endeavours. I may have been inactive in the arts scene in Winnipeg for years, but again, I am very much alive in the real world as a contributing, present individual!
I’d apologize for the confusion, but this one isn’t on me. :)
Thank you to the wonderful, prominent figure in our film world who reached out to me about this funny, eerie, almost mythical mistake. It gave me a good laugh as well as some much needed inspiration.
Maybe this is a sign of a new chapter.
Cheers to many more years ahead, new work, and a creative rebirth I’ve been craving personally and artistically.
With love and gratitude,
Sunny Sidhu
